My Paint Shop Pro Trial is about to expire, WHAT DO I DO!?:

I'm in this big "Hey, Remember the 80's?" phase. It led me to try to find a bunch of sweater vests on eBay, which was a little mini-obsession for a couple of weeks (that and camouflage haha). There are not a lot of good sweater vests to be had. After wading through like 37 pages of old lady Christmas Vests on there, I found the vest of my dreams (well, that would actually be an exact replica of Ferris Bueller's, and I haven't found that for years!).

Grey. Gap. Cashmere blend. It was a decent price, and it looked great in the photo:

Well when it arrived it was way too big. Excited turned to heartbroken in the time it took to unwrap the 5 layers of Priority Mail envelopes the seller had put it in. I wore it to work the next day anyway and it looked okay (I took pictures) but felt so behemoth. Well yesterday I washed it on hot and machine-dryered it against my better judgement and it's much better. Except for the gnarly wrinkles on the collar which I'm sure will cool-iron out. If I've ruined it I just might commit ritual suicide, I am THAT into sweater vests.

So after it shrunk in the wash I really had to wear it, that night. Even though I was just lounging around in pj's. I thought it looked cool with my awesome grey pj's so I declared Picture Night, even though I had just declared Sunday Snack Pigout Nite (way too many Milano's and Cotswald, the most delicious of all cheeses).

So I got out the makeup and had myself a full-on dorky makeover session and photo shoot. (Which of course I was compelled to document on moblog for your puzzled enjoyment.)

In keeping with my delayed reaction emergence of a personal style, expression focusing primarily on preppy 80's nerd stuff (I was younger than you cool eighties people - old enough to think that sorta thing was cool but too young to incorporate it into my wardrobe). I felt that my outfit really needed a little sunglasses pin like I had back in the day, hot pink. Well of course I don't have any of those (YET!), but what I do have is this weird pink polka dot rose pin made of t-shirt material (huh?) that I accidentally took home from Target in a zoning-mishap.

Yep, I had a grand time playing in the makeup and taking pictures, even though most of them have toothbrush fog in them. See I have to use this weird mirror method to take pre-approved pictures because my new phone doesn't have a back display. So sad. So yeah I didn't realize I needed to clean the mirror until the fashion frenzy was fizzling.

I learned two things over my long sicky weekend:
1) I need to experiment with my massive makeup collection more. I didn't even know what a grand opportunity I had in the Clinic Sunburst Duo/Rumspice sample. I haven't touched that before, thinking it was too gaudy, but it looks way cool on.
2) I should get some warm house-lounging pants, instead of stealing Chris' new ones that he hasn't even worn yet. I could probably use an electric blanket too.

Now I really want to get some suspenders, and wear them off-shoulder - I always thought that was so damn cool and I still do!! Don't worry I stop short and rebuke bike shorts and the Side Ponytail.

THAT IS THE SEXIEST DAMN NERD I'VE SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!

Correction, Second Sexiest.
here's the list as it stands:

1 - Christopher <3

2 - Some anonymous North American Cosplay nerd. A Batman fan, in the purest sense, who learned tailoring just to make the ultimate Batman costume of his dreams. Well, I think the utility belt is pretty sucky looking, but other than that I love it! I think it's mostly that badass shiny black material that gets me.

3 - That guy with the Caeser and the dark eyeliner in the Making of the Burning Crusade DVD that came with the Expansion Special Edition - (which is awesome. it came with a MOUSEPAD TOO, i think there's a pic of it on my moblog a page or two back... I am not as into the game as some, wink, but it is one cool mousepad.)

    <lj:music>Grandaddy - i'm on Standby</lj:music>

So I'm on this paranoid conspiracy nut health diet of my own invention. The tenets of which are: non-fluoride toothpaste, non-fluoride water, none of the toxic aspartame (which is extremely hard to stick to - that shit is in practically everything, thanks Donald Rumsfeld!), and aluminum free deodorant.

What I'm getting at here is I just brushed with Tom's non-fluoride whitening APRICOT Toothpaste to match my Tom's Apricot aluminum-free deodorant. I thought I would be very Eugene-trendy and purchase my hippie paste at the Market of Choice, and also because Wal-Mart only had the minty non-fluoride whitening. Which I purchased and tried, in the trial size. I was actually digging brushing my teeth with chalky vaguely minty foam and noticed I was brushing my teeth longer, but I wanted to give apricot a try. I don't know why I thought it was going to taste like a fruit roll-up, I should have expected it would taste like a vaguely fruity version of the Mint. Hmm wonder if they make it in "Plain."

So I don't recommend this toothpaste. It is almost meaty, brown-tasting. i honestly felt like i was brushing with hairball remedy. EW.

the taste left in my mouth is indescribable, just imagine foam with the faint taste of malt flavored brown gel.

this might be the first time I return used toothpaste (it WAS like $6).

    <lj:music>The Comas - Invisible Drugs (i endorse this band!)</lj:music>

Clerks Deuce. I was expecting to be majorly impressed and was not. Of course it is a Kevin Smith movie so there are moments contained therein that I really liked. I just wished the whole time I was in a different section of the the View Askewniverse and I didn't care which one. Engh, maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't watched it immediately after the joy that is Half Baked (the kids loved that one by the way, it's Chappelle schoolin' time when I get back)

+++ Rosario Dawson is so hot! I want that haircut again! Hot-a!
-+++ I miss the old frenetic non-rehab Mewes. That was more than made up for with the Goodbye Horses bit! I have always been fascinated with Silence of the Lambs, and The Scene. Also I have always loved that song. Jay performed the whole thing perfectly, I coulda died!
- All of the dirty talking joy was taken out of the movie because there were only partially tuned out children in the room. They were both on headphones playing games, but every now and then I would see Duncan looking at the TV with that certain slow blink of 'i don't get it and i'm scared', and Connor looking less frequently with that adolescent joy of being in on an adult joke, when he is nowhere near as mature as he would like to think he is. So I was quite uncomfortable and unable to give it my sleazy language-loving All.
- I was distracted by Kevin's wife who suddenly reminds me of The Lion Lady. Respect to her for certainly being so awesome to be married to Kevin Smith, but she looks like she's been under the knife a lot. She looked okay in THIS I guess, too skinny, but in Evening Harder she looked like two scoops of hell. Maybe it's the bad dye job added to my dark-hair predjudice, but she didn't look jacked up like that in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back...

also I watched Jesus Camp this morning. Though I was playing Luxor the whole time, it was very interesting and I took lots of notes.

Drew's Random Livejournal Picture Generator. Is Freakin' Awesome! It's an all-encompassing cross-section of the internet, good and bad.

http://www.toothpastefordinner.com/livejournal-pictures.php

I can't stop refreshing! Here's what seems to come up a lot:

Pictures from the LJ community of girls with apparently inexhaustible incomes who dress up beautiful Japanese dolls and act out boring stories with them. If I had limitless funds for little sweaters and doll wigs I'd probably be doing the same shit, minus the soap opera. See, I've only partially outgrown dolls. Every couple of years I find myself on eBay watching auction after auction of doll lots, mostly toys I had as a tiny tot.

very interesting stuff that I never would have known about. Invaluable information, applicable to my daily life = A community where people review frozen entrees! This is perfect for me since I eat them every single day for lunch and they have long grown tiresome. look out Amy, I'm coming to getcha!

People's really awesome + inspiring sketches, and cool photography

People's sketches of sexually ambiguous Asian cartoon folk

Cartoons of wild and or domesticated animals with drippy boners. Gross is what I said too, what a coincidence! I'm thoroughly disgusted and simultaneously saddened - Gosh Napoleon, what a waste of such artistic talent. Bestiality's is a-ok, just draw on some jewelry and a toothy grin!

every refresh will invariably contain the cast of Firefly. That is a wonderful show, beloved by ALL Internetpeople and also by lots of regular people. Please don't lump me in with the furries, nerds who never leave the computer, and their lazy/sorry excuse for humor,

For example: "I'm in ur _____ _____ing your _______." PLEASE STOP IT, MORONS. it wasn't even that funny the first time.

Sometimes there are funny picture-jokes

Unexpected nudity - yikes!

Whatever the latest meme graphic is (My Celebrity Lookalikes is still making the rounds)

pet snapshots!

Look at my World of Warcraft character which looks like every other World of Warcraft character!

lots and lots of Russian

Now you wanna hear a funny toothbrush story in which God laughs at me?

I was picking out a new toothbrush at Wal-Mart, and noticed a new kind which is a vibrating bristle brush, as an alternative to the spinbrush i have had for like 7 years and is covered with gunk. you just push a button and the little vibrating rubber bristles go at it. lightweight and different. i was gonna buy it!

UNTIL i pushed the button again to turn it off but it was still a-goin. I panicked immediately, I knew how this was going to end, but I tried to be optimistic. i was like UMMMM maybe it stops on it's own like a timer for how long you should brush, that would be smart.... I was standing there waiting for it to stop as my hand started going numb, because I didnt want to put it down and have the metal shelf and everything on it start buzzing.

At that point I got a dirty look from a middle-aged woman there with her young grandkid, so i threw it down and ran off. I ran to tell Chris, then realized I left the grocery list over there with the loud toothbrush. By the time I got back the aisle had filled with embarrassed spectators, but I was brave enough to retrieve my list and it was still going, I assume until it ran out of batteries.

Blogging quandary, resolved:
I have resisted moving my permanent blog-home to MySpace for a long time. Livejournal has a nicer format, and it's really easy to use Semagic to update (it's been a long time since I've had to break down and remember html). Blog editing on MySpace is MEDICRE at best. So what I'm going to do, everytime I have something to say, is post it to LJ then copy and paste it over here. Because the sad truth is, more people that I know are on here. Though I enjoy writing for myself very very much, I also want as many people to read it and like it as possible. So until I think of a good name, and more importanly can afford some real web presence I'm going to make a nuisance of myself to the people that read both LJ and MySpace.

Did you know Gesundheit means 'health'? Maybe I'll start saying "Don't die" every time someone sneezes.
Chris and I say it to each other, but no one else says 'bless you' here. I have theorized that they do this either as a little fuck-you to religion, or conversely as a big-up to the prevailing household religion of Science.
I'd rather look like a nice dimwit (with some semblance of faith) than a stuck up self-proclaimed genius. I will continue to say it to them. I know it's a throwback to the dark ages of humors and demon possessions, but i still thinks it's an easy courtesy to extend to a sneezing friend or loved one. Or if you're brave you can use it to be nice to strangers, it's the only way I feel comfortable doing such a thing!

_

I went through a cd of old pictures looking for one in particular. I could cry I miss my short hair so much. SO MUCH I even made a collage of my own head, for my own amusement. It's that kind of day.

It's like I expect a haircut to just happen to me. In the hamster aisle I relayed my hamster guilt to Sandy, and I knew it's days were numbered. After that I jokingly threatened aloud that I was going to rob the place... think I weirded her out (almost as much as the time I jumped up and down in the skittish elevator). I was like, "psst hey.
i was on tv this weekend. with Jerry Lewis. ok i was not with Jerry. But the seamles editing job of the crappiest tv studio i've ever been in makes it seem that way. ohhhhh wait - no it didn't.

funny, i was forced to watch the MDA Labor Day Telethon as a kid when we didn't have cable but I never thought i would be obligated to be on it. It was cool bein on tv, i guess - i did notice how bad and scary my posture is. Having never seen it on camera I was pretty shocked and spent the rest of the time i had to fill-in as a phone bank operator using live local television adjusting it. I didn't give a shit who saw me, nobody i know.

you know what i'd like to see? the scrapped footage of when Patrick Swayze was the dude in Total Recall but then they lost their funding and had to redo the script
